The Outreach Council of Churches has fed the hungry, sheltered the homeless, and aided the helpless in Pike County since 1968.

Hunger and Homeless Auction!

Donate a piece of furniture or artwork from your attic! Mention to your friends that you are looking for 'big ticket' items as well as unusual items. Be creative and surprise us with your donation.

We are looking for items that will raise between $20.00 and $3,000. The deadline for accepting items for the auction is May 16, 2008. Please call us at Bridgehaven (740-941-4348) for information on donating or dropping off items, or to buy tickets.

Fund Drive

From 1968, the Outreach Council had worked from donated space, which frequently changed. In 1997, we acquired a run-down home, which was converted to a pleasant homeless shelter — (Bridgehaven, 109 W. 2nd St., Waverly, OH.) In 2002, the two-story building next door (107 W. 2nd St.) became available. For the first time ever, we were able to dispense food and other services from a single location.

In March of 2004, the Bridgehaven mortgage was paid in full, a new back door was installed in the Emergency Services building, the parking lot had gravel applied, and electrical work was completed.

FUNDING

The Outreach Council is funded through its Friends and Supporters, regional church bodies, local congregations, organizations, companies, the CROP walk, volunteers and grants.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

The Outreach Council needs your support, including your prayers, your tax-deductible financial assistance, your time as a volunteer and your donations of food, household items, and toiletries.

PEOPLE ARE HELPING BY:

• Giving their time by volunteering
